Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co. has debuted the new Mustang GT4 at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa at the Spa-Francorchamps (Spa) motor racing circuit in eastern Belgium.

The Mustang GT4 is the latest in the Blue Oval’s motorsports efforts, dubbed “Ford vs. Everyone” by Jim Farley, president and CEO of Ford. It’s based on the all-new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse, just like the Mustang GT3.

In tandem with the reveal, Ford officially continues an uninterrupted tenure in the SRO-sanctioned GT4 category, first entered in 2017.

The vehicle’s livery is adapted from Troy Lee Designs’ liveries for the Mustang GT3 and SuperVan 4.2. Troy Lee is recognized as one of the premier motorsports livery designers in the world.

With the Mustang GT4 reveal, Ford delivers on the promise to provide a Mustang race car for any kind of racer around the world from the grassroots amateur to the professional race team.

“The Mustang GT4 is a key member of our motorsports lineup,” says Mark Rushbrook, global director for Ford Performance Motorsports. “It’s placement between the Mustang GT3 and soon-to-be-unveiled Mustang Dark Horse R keeps the brand in competition at all levels of on-track performance and is an important part of our customer racing program.”

With the new Mustang GT4, Ford Performance further expands its partnership with Multimatic in Novi. The company will build every Mustang GT4.

The Ford Coyote-based V-8 race engines in the Mustang GT4, developed fully in-house by Ford Performance, will be assembled by Ford in Dearborn.

The Mustang GT4 race car also features Multimatic DSSV dampers, a Holinger dog-ring gearbox, paddle shifters with pneumatic actuation, natural fiber body panels, as well as a unique aero package developed to meet GT4 category targets.

In other Ford news, the automaker and the Bronco Wild Fund are donating a Bronco Badlands SUV with Sasquatch off-road package to the National Park Service for use in Bandelier National Monument, where it will operate as a firefighting command vehicle.

“For more than a century Ford has supported fire response and disaster relief efforts by deploying vehicles to provide emergency transportation and power and deliver essential goods,” says Dave Rivers, brand manager for Ford Enthusiast. “Bronco Wild Fund was created because of our passion for the outdoors, and we’re excited to donate the Bronco wildland firefighting command rig to Bandelier to help protect this National Monument for generations to come.”

The Bronco wildland firefighting command rig follows the Bronco + Filson Wildland Fire Rig concept and is being donated through the Ford Bronco Wild Fund, which works to increase access, preservation, and stewardship of public lands.

To date, Bronco Wild Fund has donated more than $3.7 million to diverse causes, including organizations like America’s State Parks, National Forest Foundation, Outward Bound, and Sons of Smokey.
