About 700 employees have moved into the new Faurecia North American Headquarters and Seating Technical Center, at 2800 High Meadow Cir. in Auburn Hills, which will officially open its doors next week.

“This isn’t your traditional office space,” says Tony Sapienza, a spokesman for the automotive supplier. “It’s office space, plus a working technical center. (It) gathers several teams together under one roof and allows us to enhance our capabilities and the expertise that we’re able to provide our customers.”

The 278,000-square-foot facility will host several dedicated spaces for the company’s seating group, including a prototype metal shop, a trim development lab, and a semi-anechoic chamber that allows the Faurecia staff to better eliminate noise from the gears and levers.

“It’s more than just our headquarters — it’s a center of excellence for our seating team,” Sapienza says. “It’s an area where we can develop products, test them, and get them to market more quickly.”

The Faurecia Interior Systems Technical Center will remain at the company’s previous headquarters at 2500 Executive Hills Dr. in Auburn Hills.

Faurecia North America, whose customers include the Big Three automakers as well as BMW, Hyundai, and Mercedes-Benz, has 20,000 employees at 37 production sites and 10 R&D and customer centers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
