Farmington Hills-based Pincanna, a vertically integrated cannabis company, plans to open its first retail store, Pincanna Market, on Friday. Located in Kalkaska (east of Traverse City), the location will be the city’s first medical and adult-use marijuana retailer and will offer curbside pickup only as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Customers can place their orders at Pincanna.com, which will direct them to a third-party managed site. Products will include flower, prerolls, concentrates, edibles, and topicals, as well as accessories and apparel. Trained team members will be available to educate customers and medical marijuana cardholders on products.

Located at 786 S. Cedar St., Pincanna Market will operate 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12-6 p.m. Sunday.

Pincanna is taking Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-recommended precautions for all interactions. All employees are required to wear masks and gloves and change gloves with each customer interaction. All items handed to customers will be sanitized, and social distancing of 6 feet or more will be observed. As more information is made available, Pincanna will update and communicate new procedures.

The store offers a boutique-style design that includes natural materials and specialty fixtures. The 1,700-square-foot area also includes a consulting area for medical patients and kiosks for easy ordering.

Pincanna has a cultivation and manufacturing facility under construction on 185 acres in Pinconning (south of Standish). It will include the company’s farm, a 135,000-square-foot cultivation space with greenhouse and indoor environments, and lab, a manufacturing facility focused on producing concentrates, edibles, topicals, and other premium products.

“We’ve been enthusiastically welcomed by local civic and business leaders throughout the process, and we’re excited to not only launch the Pincanna brand here, but to be the first cannabis retail store to open in Kalkaska,” says Robert Nusbaum, founding partner. “We look forward to meeting the needs of the community with our many product varieties and knowledgeable consultants.”

The company plans to open other Pincanna Market locations throughout the state.

In addition to its own brand, Pincanna will offer Radicle Genetics, Michigan Organic Rub, Funky Extracts, Superior Solventless, and the Darren McCarty Brand.
