CardsHQ, a community-first trading card retail and experience center, has announced the grand opening of its new location in Orion Township, taking place on Nov. 14-15.
Located at 4846 S. Baldwin Road (northwest corner of I-75 and Baldwin Road), the 13,000-square-foot store is geared to area collectors, families, and sports fans. It’s the second CardsHQ location in the nation, following its Atlanta flagship.
Designed as a hub for seasoned hobbyists and casual fans, CardsHQ will offer an extensive inventory of sports cards, trading card games (TCGs), including Pokémon, high-end memorabilia, and collecting supplies in an interactive environment.
“We built CardsHQ to be far more than just a place to buy cards, it’s a destination for the collecting community and a place where friends and families can spend time and make memories together,” says Geoff Wilson, founder and CEO of CardsHQ.
“Bringing our second ever location to metro Detroit was a natural fit, as the area has one of the most passionate sports and trading card communities in the country. We couldn’t be more excited to anchor ourselves in Oakland County with an incredible weekend of events.”
To celebrate its grand opening, taking place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, CardsHQ is hosting public festivities, special events, and promotions, including:
- Member of University of Michigan’s Fab 5 and former NBA Star Jalen Rose, will appear on Saturday at 4 p.m. He will open packs of cards and have a meet-and-greet with fans. In addition, Cards HQ will make a donation to Operation Graduation to support the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy.
