The Cadillac brand of Detroit’s General Motors Co. today announced it will unveil the first all-electric Escalade IQ later this year.
The vehicle, according to the automaker, was engineered to provide the same commitment to craftsmanship, technology, and performance that has kept the internal combustion engine Escalade among the leaders in the large luxury SUV segment.
The Escalade IQ will join the LYRIQ and the upcoming Celesiq as Cadillac continues to build an all-electric vehicle portfolio.
The IQ naming strategy is meant to show that Cadillac is introducing a different type of EV to the market — one that is engineered to work in tandem with people’s daily lives and environments. The IQ designation is Cadillac’s EV nomenclature and first debuted on the LYRIQ.
More details will be released in the coming months.
