Clinc, a conversational artificial intelligence platform for financial institutions in Ann Arbor, today announced it is moving to a larger headquarters, plans to double the size of its staff to 100 employees this year, has hired a chief growth officer, and is opening an office in London.
Last year, the company says it had revenue of $4.5 million. As part of its expansion, Clinc announced that Helen Yu has joined the company as chief growth officer. Yu will oversee the marketing, sales, and customer success teams and will be responsible for spearheading global field operations and go-to-market strategy, delivering measurable value to customers, and further accelerating the company’s revenue growth.
“Helen’s talent is a rare find,” said Dr. Jason Mars, CEO of Clinc. “Her knowledge, extensive experience, and track record of transforming organizations will be an impactful asset to our team as we execute our aggressive growth plans, expand into additional verticals, and achieve our mission to revolutionize and redefine experiences through conversational AI.”
Yu brings over 20 years of executive level experience in high tech companies including Hyperion, Oracle, and Adobe. Most recently at marketing software maker Marketo, Yu was group vice president where she helped drive growth across enterprise account management and professional services. She grew the enterprise business from five percent of the company’s ARR to 50 percent of the company’s ARR within three-and-a half years before the company’s $1.8 billion acquisition.
She also is a strategic advisor for Jebbit, C-Suite Accelerator Program, and The Athena Alliance. She holds a MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
“There are few credible players in the conversational AI space, no one in the market offers the level of human-like voice experience across channels as Clinc does, and no one has accelerated from product launch to achieving 15 times growth within the same year.” says Yu.
With dozens of banking partners and global deployments including USAA and İsbank in hand, Clinc states it has achieved a 1500 percent year-over-year revenue increase since launching in 2016.
Additionally, Clinc has opened an office in San Francisco. The company was founded in 2015 by AI and systems research professors at the University of Michigan, Jason Mars and Lingjia Tang.
