Sharrow Marine, an industry leader in innovative marine propulsion technology based in St. Clair Shores, today announced its “revolutionary” Sharrow Propeller is now available to various Department of Defense (DoD) services, including the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and other government agencies.

The propeller is an approved supplier option through ADS Inc., a Virginia distributor for defense contracting. The partnership with ADS is expected to streamline the availability of Sharrow’s innovative propellers to defense customers, with which ADS has had longstanding relationships.

“We’re thrilled to have the Sharrow Propeller accessible through ADS’s extensive channels,” says Greg Sharrow, founder and CEO of Sharrow Marine. “This support from ADS, an organization trusted by the Department of Defense, federal agencies, and first responders, is a testament to our propeller’s transformative impact. We are excited to see how this exposure will drive adoption within the defense sector and beyond.”

Sharrow says his propeller has demonstrated “significant” advantages over conventional propellers, offering greater fuel efficiency, lower vibration, reduced noise, and “exceptional” handling. These qualities could prove beneficial for defense applications, where efficiency, stealth, and resilience are paramount.

“Our trial of the Sharrow Propeller revealed its game-changing qualities in terms of performance and reduced noise — key factors for the DoD,” says Jim Brooks, ADS maritime subject matter expert at ADS. “We’re pleased to offer Sharrow as a supplier option, providing our customers with state-of-the-art technology that aligns with our commitment to excellence in defense.”

As part of this new alignment, Sharrow Marine will join upcoming ADS-sponsored trade shows, allowing industry stakeholders and military representatives to explore the propeller’s capabilities in person.
