
Southfield-based Meadowbrook Insurance Agency has been acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a global insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting services firm in Rolling Meadows, Ill., a northern suburb of Chicago. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Meadowbrook Insurance Agency is a retail insurance broker offering a comprehensive range of property/casualty and group benefits services to clients through offices in Grand Rapids, Saginaw, Southfield, and Sarasota, Fla.
As part of the transaction Gallagher will acquire affiliated companies The Protection Center in Jackson and Kleinschmidt Agency Inc. in Ann Arbor.
The Meadowbrook Insurance team will operate under the direction of Sean Gallagher, head of Gallagher’s Great Lakes region retail property/casualty brokerage operations, and Tom Lannen, head of Gallagher’s Midwest region employee benefits consulting operations.
