Paesano Akkashian, a Bloomfield Hills business and commercial litigation law firm, has joined full-service law firm Amundsen Davis as of Sept. 1. The combination establishes Chicago-based Amundsen Davis’s first office in Michigan.
Paesano Akkashian’s four attorneys and related staff will join Amundsen Davis, including founding partners Anthony R. Paesano and Brian M. Akkashian, Partner Alec M. Torigian, and Partner Matthew J. Enright. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The team will continue working from Paesano Akkashian’s current office at 7457 Franklin Road, Suite 200.
Opening its first Michigan office strengthens Amundsen Davis’s ability to serve long-standing clients in the state, while Paesano Akkashian brings local market knowledge and multiple relationships within the Michigan business community.
“Paesano Akkashian’s reputation, client relationships, and deep knowledge of the Michigan market make this a natural fit for our firm,” says Lew R.C. Bricker, managing partner of Amundsen Davis. “Michigan is home to many industries that drive the Midwest economy. Our clients have been asking us to enter the Michigan marketplace, and we can think of no better place to start.”
Founded in 2011, Paesano Akkashian’s practice centers on commercial and business litigation, automotive supply chain disputes, securities transactions and arbitration, real estate finance, and estate and business planning. The firm represents clients ranging from Tier 1 automotive suppliers to publicly traded companies and real estate developers.
“Our goal has always been to provide sophisticated legal counsel while remaining highly responsive,” says Anthony R. Paesano, co-founding partner of Paesanno Akkashian. “Joining Amundsen Davis allows us to build on that commitment while offering clients access to significantly greater resources and bench strength.”
The addition reflects Amundsen Davis’s continued growth across the Midwest. The firm is comprised of more than 270 attorneys across offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, and now Michigan, with practice and industry groups spanning corporate and securities, labor and employment, litigation, real estate, and dozens of other areas.
“What stood out to us about Amundsen Davis was its entrepreneurial and client-centric culture,” says Brian M. Akkashian, co-founding partner of Paesano Akkashian. “The opportunity to offer our clients expanded services while joining a firm that shares our values is an exciting next step for our team.”
Amundsen Davis reports its clients will benefit by adding a Michigan office, with added access to an expanded geographic reach and national platform, industry knowledge, and expanded educational programming, including the firm’s webcast and training series for business leaders.
