ORA Detroit, a new luxury dining and nightlife destination, is scheduled to open this weekend (Oct. 10-11) inside the historic Bankers Trust Building at 205 W. Congress St. in downtown Detroit.
The latest concept from restaurateur Mario Camaj, ORA Detroit offers elevated nightlife, live music, and culinary experiences into a multi-level venue. The building is located at the southwest corner of W. Congress and Shelby Street.
Camaj is a principal and operator of Tallulah Wine Bar & Bistro in Birmingham, ZANA in Birmingham, BESA in downtown Detroit, and the newly opened Franklin Oyster Bar & Eatery as a hospitality partner in Franklin.
“ORA Detroit is designed to be Detroit’s premier gathering place, a space that evolves throughout the day and night (and) offers the energy of a luxury nightclub alongside the warmth of a restaurant and lounge,” says Camaj, founder and owner of ORA Detroit. “It’s a destination where people can celebrate, connect, and experience the best of Detroit hospitality.”
The ORA Detroit experience includes:
— Mon.–Wed.: Reserved exclusively for private group events.
— Thurs.-Fri.: Live music and shareable plates begin at 4 p.m. in a refined lounge setting before shifting into an elevated nightlife experience at 9 p.m.
— Saturday: Brunch at 11 a.m. with prix fixe offerings, sports, and entertainment on a large LED screen and rotating DJs throughout the afternoon. At 5 p.m., the venue transforms into a nightlife scene, with the main evening experience kicking off at 9 p.m. and lasting late.
— Sunday: A more relaxed brunch and football watch party from 11 a.m.
Guests can expect a culinary program designed for both daytime dining and late-night cravings. The weekend brunch menu features creations like Sin-a-Mon French Toast, Velvet Touch Shrimp & Grits, and The Morning Smash Burger.
Evening sharables include lamb lollipops with zip sauce, Bang Bang Shrimp, and artisan flatbreads, while the late-night menu offers sliders, mac and cheese melts, and fried chicken tenders.
Spanning two stories and roughly 10,000 square feet of total space, ORA Detroit is available for private rentals and large-scale events such as weddings, holiday parties, and corporate gatherings. The venue’s flexible design can accommodate a variety of occasions.
“Even before our official opening, we’re receiving requests for weddings, holiday celebrations, and private corporate bookings during the (2026) Detroit Auto Show,” says Michael Soyad, director of operations at ORA Detroit. “We will also host celebrations throughout the year, including Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, and New Year’s Eve.”
ORA Detroit’s grand opening weekend will showcase its full programming, starting with live music and nightlife on Friday, followed by brunch, DJs ,and a late-night celebration on Saturday.
Completed in 1925, the Bankers Trust Building was designed by Wirt C. Rowland in the Italian Romanesque Revival style and features ornate terra cotta sculptures by Corrado Parducci.
The building is a designated historic structure and was the site of Bankers Trust Co. until 1948. Since then, the building has been used for a variety of uses, including offices, restaurants, and nightclubs.
