OHM Advisors in Livonia, an architecture, engineering and planning firm, today announced it has acquired Community Image Builders, a community planning and development consulting firm based in Fenton. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal marks OHM Advisors’ third acquisition in less than a year, which the company states will strengthen its capabilities in planning, housing development, and economic growth strategy.

In December, OHM Advisors announced the purchase of THY Inc. in Memphis, Tenn., a land surveying and civil engineering firm; and Griner Engineering in St. Petersburg, Fla., which specializes in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services.

“We are excited to welcome the talented team from Community Image Builders to our OHM family,” says Jon Kramer, president of OHM Advisors. “This partnership is a natural extension of our longtime collaboration and shared values around people-focused planning and solutions. With Community Image Builders’s specialized expertise in community branding and economic development, we are even better positioned to meet our mission of advancing communities.”

Founded in Fenton, Community Image Builders has more than 13 years of experience delivering planning, housing and branding solutions to public and private sector clients.

The firm’s approach of combining data-driven insights with strategic marketing and identity services has helped communities attract developers, residents, and investment.

The acquisition enhances OHM Advisors’ ability to serve clients holistically by adding community positioning and marketing to its full-service platform. It also builds upon the firm’s level of expertise in planning, economic development, and redevelopment services.

“This milestone marks an exciting new chapter for our team,” says Carmine Avantini, founder of Community Image Builders. “Together with OHM Advisors, we’ll be able to offer an expanded suite of services — planning, engineering, architecture, transportation, water resources, and more — while continuing to elevate visibility and awareness for the communities we serve.”

The acquisition was finalized on June 30, 2025.
