Troy-based Momentum Books has announced the next installment of “Excerpts from an Unknown Guidebook Series,” which was released on Saturday along with a new music single.

The release for “Excerpts from an Unknown Guidebook Series Book II: Cave in the Rock” by Josef Bastain and the single “The Story of Us All” by Lexi Jones continues the growth and expansion of the fantasy franchise, which includes books, movies, music, games, and other elements designed to promote children’s literacy and family entertainment.

The book is part of an eight-book series and follows the adventures of a group of teenagers as they cross worlds and dimensions to fight the forces of darkness.

“‘The Excerpts from an Unknown Guidebook Series’ has been designed to get kids excited about reading again,” says Bastian, creator of the Folktellers Universe. “The stories are short, exciting, and filled with creatures, monsters, and the adventures children and adults love. The release of ‘Cave in the Rock’ is another giant step in immersing our audience deeper into the incredible family-friendly universe we’ve created.”

“The Story of Us All” was produced by Detroit’s Allen and Randy Lynch’s III Worlds Productions and Jaunty Meek’s Death by Lipstick Studio. The song works to encapsulate the energy and sound of myths and legends from around the world.

“We knew it was a lofty goal to mix in all these cultural pieces; it seemed an almost insurmountable task,” says Lynch. “Then we all just looked at each other and agreed that the story of the song had to start from within each one of us. Once we started working from the inside out, all the pieces just came together organically – like magic.”

The single is available on the Folktellers Universe YouTube channel.

“Launching ‘Book II: Cave in the Rock’ is extremely exciting, and adding the new theme song is the icing on the cake,” says Stephen Sadler, producer of the Folktellers Universe.

“It’s so incredible to collaborate with such creative producers and talented artists. I felt honored to watch pieces of everyone’s soul form into this wonderful musical production; the song is truly a sculpture that was already in the rock, just waiting to be revealed. Excellent work by the entire team.”

Folktellers works to create and promote storytelling experiences that encourage people to engage with stories across different types of entertainment media.

The book is available at Momentum Books and retail outlets.

Momentum was founded in 1987 and was acquired by Hour Media in 2001. Hour is the nation’s largest publisher of city regional magazines in the country, including DBusiness, with 160 magazines and 300 titles overall.
