Pearl’s Deep Dive, a new seafood concept from Adam Merkel Restaurants, has opened in downtown Royal Oak on the first level of 100 S. Main Street below Pinky’s Rooftop.

The new restaurant offers an eclectic 1920s dinner party atmosphere with intimate dining and lounge seating throughout the space. The menu was crafted by Merkel and his culinary team and features predominately seafood dishes along with craft cocktails, wine, and champagne.

“Our team is excited to bring Pearl’s Deep Dive to the Royal Oak community, expanding our presence in the downtown area,” says Merkel. “Pearl’s has a uniquely fun, eclectic, and old-soul vibe and, like our other concepts, is intended to draw guests regionally while maintaining a strong neighborhood vibe.”

The menu features a variety of oyster options including oysters Rockefeller and Cajun grilled oysters (topped with herb tabasco butter, grilled lemon, and scallion). Other fresh seafood options include lobster dumplings, seared sea scallops, lobster mac and cheese, New England lobster rolls.

For those who aren’t fans of seafood, the menu offers an 8-ounce flatiron charcoal grilled wagyu steak topped with charcoal grilled oyster mushrooms, and a marsala reduction. Alternatively, a double cheeseburger made from a blend of brisket, short rib, and chuck blend is available.

The cocktail menu includes options like the Cucumber Gimlet (Bombay Sapphire gin and lime), the Clarified Mai Tai (Bacardi Rum, Smith & Cross Jamaican Rum, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, house orgeat, and lime), or the Some Like it Hot (Altos Plata Tequila, hibiscus puree, lime, chipotle and jalapeño spiced agave, and Cointreau).

The 2,000-square-foot restaurant, designed by architects Ron & Roman, seats a total of 70 guests, inclusive of 10 seats at the bar. The bar, which is the main focal point of the restaurant, is in the shape of a large horseshoe and took more than nine months to complete.

Hours of operation are Tuesday-Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Adam Merkel Restaurant owns and operates Diamond’s Steak & Seafood, Cello Italian Restaurant, and The Silver Pig, all located in downtown Howell, as well as Pinky’s Rooftop, Pearl’s Deep Dive and Bohemia (coming soon) in downtown Royal Oak.
