MJR Theatres, headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, is set to open the RP1: Gaming and Entertainment Lounge, a new gaming and entertainment facility, this May at the MJR Southgate Cinema.
The entertainment space will offer players and spectators an “unparalleled experience” with 11-foot screens, the latest gaming technology, and a variety of food and beverage options.
Designed for gamers and entertainment enthusiasts of all ages, RP1 will feature semi-private zones equipped with an extensive selection of the latest video games for the most popular gaming consoles. Each zone will accommodate groups of up to four people.
Whether playing the same game as a team or choosing different consoles to run simultaneously, RP1 says it ensures an “unmatched level” of customization and excitement.
Additionally, guests can enjoy live sporting events and other media, creating what MJR calls “the perfect environment for social gatherings, competitive play, or casual entertainment.” The lounge also is available for private parties, accommodating up to 30 people.
“MJR Theatres is thrilled to introduce RP1: Gaming and Entertainment Lounge as a new way to bring people together,” says Joel Kincaid, vice president of operations at MJR Theatres. “We are always looking for innovative ways to enhance the entertainment experience, and RP1 delivers just that by blending high-quality gaming with the social energy of the big screen.”
In addition to the new RP1 lounge, the MJR Southgate Cinema, located at 15651 Trenton Road in Southgate, features both an IMAX and Laser Ultra auditorium, two premium large-format experiences equipped with super-sized screens, laser projectors, and fully immersive sound.
MJR Theatres has 10 Michigan locations and more than 160 screens.
