Lansing’s Green Peak Innovations, a holder of vertical medical marijuana licenses, has received approval from the state for licenses to grow and sell cannabis for recreational use. The company has approvals for cultivation and processor licenses in Windsor Charter Township (southwest of Lansing), and provisioning centers in White Cloud (southwest of Big Rapids) and Ann Arbor.

“One of our primary goals has always been to make Green Peak Innovations the first large scale, vertically integrated, adult-use cannabis producer in the state of Michigan,” says Joe Neller, chief of government affairs at Green Peak. “It has been a long journey since Michiganders voted to approve the legalization of adult-use cannabis in November 2018.  However, we are now standing at the doorstep of realizing this objective with the end of the cannabis prohibition in our home state of Michigan.”

The company’s first two stores have been approved for recreational use starting in December. Skymint is located at 1958 S. Industrial Highway in Ann Arbor, and White River Wellness is located at 194 N. Charles St. in White Cloud. The company also has three Skymint-branded retail stores operating in Bay City, Newaygo (south of White Cloud), and Nunica (east of Grand Haven). It plans to open four more stores over the next eight-10 weeks.

“We are extremely proud to finally begin opening the doors of our premium cannabis retail stores to the everyday recreational consumer,” says Jeff Radway, CEO.  “As we continue to open new locations across the state and beyond, we are confident that our Skymint stores are transforming the cannabis retail experience with modern and inviting atmospheres and a knowledgeable and passionate staff.”

Green Peak cultivates, processes, markets, and distributes a range of cannabis products under the brands Skymint, North Cannabis, Jolly, Evoxe Laboratories, Agata, and St. Jade through Skymint-branded stores and wholesale distribution channels.
