K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel, a dog boarding and daycare brand based in New Jersey, has announced it is expanding into metro Detroit with planned locations in Troy and Sterling Heights.
The company states it has secured sites at 2966 Industrial Row Drive in Troy and 13150 Hall Road in Sterling Heights, which “offer the type of demographics and retail corridors that align well with K9 Resorts’ expansion strategy,” according to the company.
No information was provided about when the two locations would open.
Overall, metro Detroit represents a strong opportunity for the brand, given the region’s high rates of pet ownership, strong suburban household growth, and increasing demand for professional pet care services.
“In markets like Detroit, we see strong alignment between growing demand for professionally managed pet care and the standards our brand is built to deliver,” says Scott Schubiger, chief growth officer at K9 Resorts.
“Pet parents want peace of mind knowing their dogs are cared for in a clean, calm environment built around consistency and safety. That expectation continues to support demand for premium pet care and guides our growth strategy.”
K9 Resorts currently operates 48 locations nationwide, including one resort in Grand Rapids, with additional locations in development. Founded in 2005 by brothers Steven and Jason Parker, the brand states it has grown by focusing on markets where pet parents are looking for dependable, high-quality care they can trust.
Each K9 Resorts location is custom-designed and “include hospital-grade ventilation systems, antimicrobial flooring, cage-free luxury boarding, and rigorously trained staff, all designed to support consistent care, cleanliness, and safety across every location.”
As part of its continued national growth, K9 Resorts is actively exploring opportunities with qualified franchise partners interested in bringing luxury pet boarding and daycare to their local communities.
