Chrome will be gleaming this weekend when the 71st Autorama rolls into Huntington Place this weekend.

Hundreds of hot rods, custom and specialty vehicles, show cars, and vehicles from TV shows and motion pictures will be on display. There also is an area dedicated to automotive toys and signage.

Among the special features at this year’s Autorama is a Tribute to Evel Knievel, the 1960s and 1970s daredevil, five generations of Batmobiles including the version from the iconic 1966 TV show, and the 10-car Cavalcade of Customs exhibit.

Celebrities scheduled to attend include Noel G., Hector from the “Fast and Furious” film series and 1980s rock legend Dee Snider. Noel G. will appear Friday from 5-8 p.m. Snider will be on hand from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday.

Special programming associated with Autorama includes Friday’s Summit Student Career Day, which began in 2006 as a way to support school automotive educational programs by exposing students to the wide range of opportunities in the industry through associated subject matter speakers and presentations, corporate support, and event participation.

Other events include weekend long car care tips from Meguiar’s and the Miss Autorama Pinup Girl contest at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Doors open at noon on Friday and stay open until 10 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
