The Birmingham-based restaurant group Sy Thai will expand with the opening of its second fast-casual concept in Detroit, called Go! Sy Thai, in The Albert apartment complex in downtown Detroit this fall.

“The Albert is a perfect location for us to expand our Detroit business,” says Cedric Lee, owner of Go! Sy Thai. “With our menu of classic Thai food dishes, along with vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options, we are eager to establish Go! Sy Thai as a staple within the Capitol Park community.”

Lee says the restaurant, to be located at 1214 Griswold St., will offer made-to-order Thai food and a simple, condensed menu. Options include hot and sour soup and spring rolls, along with a variety of noodle, fried rice, and curry dishes, such as Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Cashew Nut, and Potato Curry.

He says the 29-seat restaurant will offer delivery service to Detroit’s Midtown and downtown areas. Detroit-based Patrick Thompson Design will design the space.

The Albert, a 127-unit, 12-story luxury apartment complex, is also home to Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters and Detroit Bikes.

Sy Thai, founded in 1993, has sit-down locations in Troy, Birmingham, and St. Clair Shores. The other Go! Sy Thai is in Detroit’s Midtown district.
