TROY—United Shore, a metro-Detroit mortgage lending service, is hosting a shed-building initiative on its campus on Thursday to be donated to family homes through Habitat for Humanity.

More than 1,250 United Shore employees will be participating in the event.

“So many of our team members are passionate about volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, so we wanted to facilitate that opportunity for them,” says Mat Ishbia, president and CEO of United Shore. “It will be an awesome experience for us to get our hands dirty and have fun together, all while helping families in Metro Detroit.”

This is not the first time Habitat and United Shore have partnered. Several projects have been spearheaded by the partnership, including dollar donations, sponsored volunteer days on build sites, and ReStore donations.

United Shore employees recently have been given the option to donate part of their paycheck to Habitat via automatic payroll deduction.
