BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., March 3, 2009 – O’Keefe Investment Banking is joining with Metro Detroiters Jeff Burton (producer of eight movies in Michigan) and Chuck Pfarrer (acclaimed author/screenwriter of “The Jackal,” “Darkman”) to bring local movie producers and potential financiers together via a forum designed to pave the way for hundreds of millions of potential investment dollars for the Michigan film industry.

The three are working together to bring Los Angeles-based All Cities Media Group (ACMG), a high-level film industry networking organization, to Metro Detroit. Designed to facilitate relationships and identify capital sources for feature film investment, ACMG is a division of The All Cities Network, a business resource and referral group founded in LA in 1991 by entrepreneur Eric Shaw. ACMG was formed in 2007, and is fostered by Shaw and filmmaker Joel Eisenberg. LA hosts for ACMG meetings include Warner Bros. and Sunset Gower Studios (formerly Columbia Pictures Studios).

Films financed in full or in part by ACMG connections include “Good” starring Viggo Mortensen and in theaters now, the upcoming Columbine-themed film “April Showers,” and Marvel’s remake of “The Hulk.” Also financed in part by ACMG connections, Eisenberg is presently producing “Road to Purgatory,” the sequel to Tom Hanks’ “Road to Perdition.”

The first Metro Detroit meeting of ACMG, set for April 21, 2009, will mark the group’s first foray outside of Southern California. The two-hour meeting will begin at 7 a.m. at O’Keefe & Associates in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Subsequent meetings will occur the third Tuesday of each month, by invitation.

“ACMG levels the playing field between filmmakers who need money, and investors who have capital available for entertainment ventures,” Eisenberg said. “Our aim is to help filmmakers and investors take advantage of our resources as we collectively do our share to aid the economy of Michigan, which has one of the best film production incentive programs in the country.”

Said Jonathan LaBarre, Director and Head of Investment Banking for O’Keefe & Associates: “Establishing a presence here for this powerful network lays an important foundation.  ACMG, along with our experience and relationships in the venture capital arena in the upper Midwest, will make for a productive partnership; bringing together all parties necessary to make film investments a reality.”

ACMG is an invitation-only entertainment network comprised of individuals and institutions interested in financing motion picture and television projects and those involved in the production and distribution of these projects. The goal of the ACMG is to maintain an organized collective with the intent of providing financial opportunities, in the form of referrals, jobs and partnerships among its members.
