Grand Rapids-based Bissell has created an autonomous robot that vacuums, sweeps, and mops.

“The SpinWave Robot is a nearly effortless way to conveniently mop and vacuum so you can achieve a true wet and dry clean at home,” says Nick Ellis, associate director of vacuums and robotic marketing at Bissell.

“This new, innovative robot will give families time back, so they can feel confident their home is being thoroughly cleaned while they spend more time together.”

The rotating mop pads wash floors and sweep up dry debris, and the dry cleaning system includes a rotating brush roll, edge cleaning brushes, and suction.

The vacuum also has gyroscope technology that enables it to clean in a systematic back-and-forth pattern. It returns to spots it missed, avoids carpets and rugs when in wet cleaning mode with a soft surface avoidance sensor, and avoids stairs and other drop-offs.

An app offers remote controlling and scheduling of the robot, cleaning preferences, and cleaning history. It has a manufacturer suggested retail price of $399.

Bissell has been creating floor care solutions for more than 140 years.
