Ziyad I. Hermiz has joined Varnum, a law firm headquartered in Grand Rapids. Hermiz is on the firm’s litigation and trial practice team. He is based in Varnum’s Birmingham office.
With more than 10 years of experience as a trial attorney, Hermiz focuses on business and commercial litigation. His work includes resolving disputes in the areas of non-compete and trade secrets, shareholders and LLCs, physician and medical provider representation, civil RICO, franchises, real estate, and other business-related matters. He also advises startup and closely held businesses.
Hermiz graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in Detroit. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing. Hermiz interned for the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit before he entered private practice.

He previously served as vice president of the Chaldean American Bar Association and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association.
