Livonia’s Zeal Credit Union has announced the appointment of Julie Kreinbring as president and CEO. She succeeds long-time CEO Anthony Carnarvon and was most recently executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Zeal.

“Julie is an exceptional leader and strategist, passionate about our mission, committed to our principles and values, and knows how to build and lead a large successful organization and team,” says Michael O’Hehir, chairman of the board. “Her ability to inspire, empower, and connect with our employees, partners, and members is exactly what Zeal needs.”

Before joining Zeal, Kreinbring was executive vice president of Alliance Catholic Credit Union, where she oversaw operations of $450 million, grew digital audiences, and drove a merger of equals.

Kreinbring is also on the board of Member Student Lending LLC and the Downriver and Metro West Chapter of Credit Unions. She also served as a director of St. Vincent de Paul and advisory director of the University of Detroit Mercy career center.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Davenport University, Kreinbring earned a master’s degree in information systems from Central Michigan University.

“I am honored and excited to lead Zeal Credit Union into its next phase of growth and innovation,” says Kreinbring. “We have an organization of truly talented and amazing people, and I am very grateful for the commitment and hard work of all. Their passion for creating a culture of empathy and support is inspiring. The opportunities that lie ahead for us are considerable.”

Zeal is a full-service, nonprofit financial institution. It was founded in 1954 and has 13 locations in metro Detroit. Its assets exceed $600 million.
