DETROIT — Artist and arts educator John Sauvé has been selected to join the Outreach Advisory Board at the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit.
He is the first person to represent Y Arts on the advisory board. Y Arts is the arts and humanities branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, offering both in-school outreach arts programs, as well as onsite programming at the Boll YMCA and community arts initiatives.
Sauvé, of Brighton, is installing his The Man in the City project in Detroit and Windsor which is comprised of 40 sculptures located on the rooftops of prominent buildings. He says the project creates a metaphor for life that transforms the skyline and encourages people to engage in the discovery process and their sense of place within the city.
Sauvé earned a bachelor’s degree in arts administration from Michigan State University.
