ROCHESTER HILLS — Wright & Filippis CEO and Chairman of the Board Anthony Filippis announced today that the board of directors has appointed company COO Robert DeWolf Jr. to be the company’s president.
Filippis, previously carrying all three titles, said the change will allow him to spend less time managing operational details and more time on strategic growth and service expansion opportunities. DeWolf will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the company, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
Filippis’ father, Anthony Filippis Sr. co-founded the company in 1944. In 1968, Fillipis started his career at Wright & Filippis as an orthotic and prosthetic technician. He later served as vice president from 1981-1997, and in 1997, he succeeded his older brother Gene as president.
DeWolf joined Wright & Filippis in 2011 as the company’s chief financial officer and later was appointed to chief operating officer Prior to joining Wright & Filippis, DeWolf was CFO for Atmosphere Group LLC and JAC Products Inc. where he spent 22 years from 1988 to 2010. His responsibilities included managing the finance, information technology, human resources and purchasing departments. He also served as administrative officer on all contractual issues, risk management/insurance matters, and corporate secretary/treasurer for all legal entities.
Now a certificated public accountant, DeWolf received his bachelor of business arts degree from Eastern Michigan University.
