BIRMINGHAM — Wells Fargo Advisors’ independent brokerage arm has hired Jeffrey Fratarcangeli of Merrill Lynch as a financial adviser.

Fratarcangeli, who managed over $424 million in client assets at Merrill Lynch, joined Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network as an independent adviser running his own practice. As an independent adviser, Fratarcangeli will get a larger payout than brokers who are full-time employees but cover more of his expenses out of pocket. He will not be an employee of Wells Fargo Advisors. He will be based out of Wells Fargo Advisors Financial’s office at Birmingham.

Fratarcangeli designs detailed financial strategies and creates wealth management strategies for his high net worth clients, taking into account their investment needs, their ability or willingness to assume risk, their time horizon and other factors that may affect their investment decisions. He also speaks across the country to business owners and executives on various topics related to investing and finance.
