Waters Edge at Harbortown Apartments Now Open

After more than two years of construction, the Waters Edge at Harbortown apartment complex is now open, making the property among Detroit’s first new residential developments in more than 25 years.

On-site amenities include a private marina, direct entry to the Riverfront walkway, full access to the 35-acre Harbortown master development community, and a forthcoming fitness center and community building.

“Detroit’s real estate market continues to thrive and vacancies are becoming sparse,” says April Sedillos, executive vice president at Denver-based Triton Properties, the company managing the property. “Waters Edge provides an urban luxury apartment home option for those looking to move or relocate to the city without having to sacrifice riverfront views and amenities, while still living within minutes from downtown.”

Sedillos says the developers were aiming for an urban-luxury-inspired design, with many of the apartments offering an open floor plan with private, outdoor balconies, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, glass shower enclosures, walk-in closets and views of downtown Detroit’s skyline, Belle Isle Park, the Detroit River and the river skyline of Windsor, Canada.

Near completion, a community building will provide residents with access to an all-new, fully equipped fitness center, shared lounge space and an outdoor pool.  As part of the Harbortown master development community, Waters Edge residents also have free roam of the gated, 35-acre property, which includes a private lake and marina and direct access to the Detroit RiverWalk.

Rental rates for Waters Edge apartment homes start at $1,328 per month with varying floor plans available, including: 1 bedroom/1 bathroom (850-1,105-square-feet); 2 bedroom/2 bathroom (1,175-square-feet); and 3 bedroom/2 bathrooms (1,470-1,660-square-feet).

“Since Triton came to Detroit in 2009, our team has strived to be a valuable member of the community and not just another investor in the city,” says Don Bailey, Chairman and CEO at Triton.
