TROY — Registration is now open for the SHRM CP and SCP exam preparation classes beginning March 11 at the Walsh Troy campus. SHRM has designated Walsh College as an official education partner to deliver instructor-led classes.
According to SHRM, the new certification reflects a human resources professional’s competencies and his or her ability to put knowledge to work through critical thinking and application.
Walsh’s decision to offer the new SHRM certification was based on the trade association’s closer connection with professionals and the HR industry; its leading, learning-based training materials; and its broader scope of eligibility criteria for certification acceptance.
“Practical application is the hallmark of a Walsh education,” says Jan Hubbard, Walsh Leadership Center director. “This certification course features the best of Walsh combined with the best of SHRM.”
The Walsh certification course costs $1,295 for registrations received before Feb. 16 with the Early Bird discount code. Thereafter, tuition is $1,495. Tuition must be paid in full before classes begin.
SHRM announced in May 2014 that it was developing a new certification and competency model that HR professionals need to advance their careers and improve their effectiveness in the workplace.
