VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP — Visteon Corp., a leading global automotive supplier, partnered with Porsche AG to develop a new advanced instrument cluster for the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo e-hybrid concept, launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
Integrating multiple thin film transistor displays with touch-activated functions, Visteon developed and delivered the instrument cluster in 10 weeks by leveraging its flexible driver information platform design and its expertise as one of the world’s leading suppliers of driver information technologies.
The futuristic-styled cluster incorporates a 12.3 inch central thin film transistor color display with two additional color thin film transistor gauges on either side of the display. The central display incorporates the Sport Turismo’s vehicle and driver information, ranging from tachometer and navigation to input from the vehicle’s external cameras. The right-hand transistor gauge provides the driver with the hybrid driving state of the vehicle, while the left-hand gauge incorporates a touch screen enabling the e-hybrid start function.
“Our investment in flexible hardware and software architectures enables us to deliver unique and tailored user interface solutions in accelerated timescales to our customers around the world,” said Christian Feltgen, Visteon’s global director of cockpit electronics technologies.
Visteon will display the Panamera Sport Turismo instrument cluster at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center today through Friday.
