Viant Technology, an advertising technology company in California, hired Shelley Kenyon and Bob Gibb to be account directors as part of the company’s efforts to expand in the Detroit market.

Viant’s plans in Detroit call for the company to seek business in several industries, including automotive, quick service restaurants, and finance. Before joining Viant, Kenyon and Gibb had a combined 17 years working previously at Yahoo and in other key roles in the advertising industry.

Since 1999, Kenyon has developed expertise in advertising, digital marketing, and sales. She has experience on the advertising agency side for 11 years working at agencies on accounts such as GM, Ford, Harley Davidson, KFC, and Qwest Communications. She moved to advertising technology (adtech) sales in 2010, where she worked at Microsoft, DataXu, and Yahoo, with a specialized focus on data, adtech platforms, and analytics.

Kenyon graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing with a degree in marketing and lives with her husband Chris in Detroit.

Originally from East Grand Rapids, Gibb completed his education at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo before establishing roots in Troy. He is married with two children—a 19-year-old daughter currently attending Michigan State University and a 16-year-old son in high school.
