Valassis Names New CFO

Livonia-based Valassis,an intelligent media delivery company, has appointed Grant Fitz as its new CFO.

In his new position, Fitz will be responsible for leading financial operations and working to support strategic growth initiatives within the company’s divisions.

With more than 25 years of experience, he previously worked as the corporate vice president and CFO for Xerox Technology Business in Norwalk, Conn., where he received the company’s CEO Award for significant business turnaround. Fitz also worked as CFO and chief risk officer at General Motor Co. in Torino, Italy, and the Detroit area, and held positions as vice president and CFO at Nexteer Automotive in Saginaw, a Michigan-based global steering system supplier.

Fitz, of Livonia, earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science degree in management, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Krannert School of Management at Perdue University, where he was awarded the General Motors Fellowship Award and named a Krannert Scholar.
