Davenport University, a private university based in Grand Rapids, announced it has appointed Mark Stiers and Keith A. Klingenberg to its board of trustees.

“This is a pivotal time for Davenport University,” says Richard J. Pappas, president of Davenport. “We are laser-focused on meeting the talent needs our economy faces. The addition of these two highly skilled individuals to our Board of Trustees will bring both expertise and diversity of thought to our university.”

Stiers currently serves as president and COO of DTE’s Vantage and Energy Trading business units. As president of the Vantage business unit, he directs operations across 74 U.S. sites and leads strategic planning and business development. For DTE Energy Trading, he oversees the growth of the non-regulated subsidiary of DTE.

He joined DTE Energy in 2006 and most recently served as president and COO of DTE Gas. Stiers holds his bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Windsor.

Klingenberg is the CEO and founder of Presidio Insurance Solutions and is a certified insurance counselor, transportation risk specialist, and licensed resident insurance producer. In addition to these roles, he has served as principal and president of TrueNorth Insurance of Michigan.

He is a graduate of Davenport University and the Michigan Military Academy. He is an inactive U.S. Army Officer and recipient of the American Spirit of Honor Medal.

“It’s wonderful to welcome these leaders to our organization in addition to alumnus,” says Pappas. “I look forward to working with both individuals to achieve our 2025 vision.”
