DETROIT – Dykema, a leading national law firm, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Jin-Kyu Koh as leader and Hoon Noh as assistant leader of the Korean Business Team.
Jin-Kyu Koh is based in the Detroit office and served as the office managing member of the Detroit office for the past four years. Hoon Noh is based in the Los Angeles office and previously worked at and was a founding member of DW Partners, a law firm in Seoul, Korea.
The Korean Business Team is a cross-disciplinary team consisting of approximately 25 lawyers dedicated to providing the full array of legal services to Korean-based companies operating in the United States, as well as to multi-national companies operating in Korea.
The recent passage of the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement will serve as a catalyst for increasing activity here in the United States for Korean based companies, as well as increased activities of U.S. companies operating in Korea. “For Korean-based companies who seek top-tier, effective and practical legal representation, one that really understands their culture and business, we look to become their ‘go-to’ resource,” Jin-Kyu Koh said.
Koh, who was born in Seoul, has extensive experience in all matters of corporate finance, from mergers and acquisitions to public and private offerings of equity and debt securities to angel and venture capital financings. In addition, he provides general corporate representation to firms in the information technology, biotechnology and life sciences, casino gaming and sports and entertainment industries.
Noh, who has practiced law for over 18 years, headed an international practice at a Korea-based boutique law firm for the past 14 years before joining Dykema. He has extensive transactional experience representing a diverse array of companies based in Korea as well as foreign entities entering the Korean market. He is fluent in both Korean and English.
In addition to the recent addition of Hoon Noh, the Korean Business Team also recently added Kwangwook (Paul) Lee, resident in the firm’s Detroit office and a member of the Firm’s corporate finance practice group. Lee is fluent in both Korean and English and currently advises Korean auto-suppliers in Michigan.
