Two Michigan Credit Unions Merge Operations, Members

FARMINGTON HILLS — Community Choice Credit Union and NuPath Community Credit Union today announced a merger between the two institutions has been finalized. The two Michigan-based credit unions will operate under the name of Community Choice Credit Union.

NuPath’s three branches and more than 11,500 members join Community Choice Credit Union’s nine member centers and 56,000 members to create a combined credit union, serving more than 11 counties and Select Employer Groups throughout Michigan and totaling more than 67,000 members and $665 million in assets.

During the first few months of the merger, NuPath’s locations in Wyandotte, Flat Rock and Holland will begin operating as NuPath, a division of Community Choice Credit Union, with all NuPath employees becoming a part of the Community Choice.

The merger was unanimously voted in favor of by the two credit unions’ boards of directors and received approval by the National Credit Union Association and the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services.

The combined credit union will serve members who live in Allegan, Genesee, Kent, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Ottawa, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.
