Troy-based Dickinson Wright Attorney Elected Chair of State Bar’s Environmental Section

Kelly Martorano, an attorney at Dickinson Wright’s Troy office, has been elected as chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Environmental Law Section.

The section examines proposed legislation and regulations concerning natural resources and environmental law. As chair, Martorano will be responsible for leading the section’s executive council and promoting the education of members of the bar and of the general public on these laws. This is done through the sponsoring of webinars and conferences, as well as the publication of the Michigan Environmental Law Journal.

Martorano is of counsel in firm’s Troy office. Her clients include companies of all sizes, financial institutions, and municipalities, and she helps them evaluate and navigate transactional and regulatory environmental issues. She has prepared and negotiated purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and real estate documents related to the acquisition, disposition, leasing, construction, and financing of medical office building projects in Michigan.

Martorano is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Air and Waste Management Association, and the Michigan Wetlands Association. She received her undergraduate degree and juris doctorate from Michigan State University.
