Treetops Resort in Gaylord hired Greg Jones as the resort’s food and beverage director and Ben Hammock as the assistant food and beverage director.

“We are thrilled to welcome Greg Jones to the post of food and beverage director and are looking forward to the continued elevation and expansion of creative menu, venue, and event offerings at Treetops,” says Barry Owens, general manager of Treetops Resort. “We have always been known for our world-class golf and winter adventure, so we are excited to see the transformation of our resort into a true culinary destination. Greg is creative, passionate, well-rounded, and he understands resort and mountain operations.”

Jones’ goal is to turn Treetops into a dining destination offering menu options that are creative and inviting for each season

Educated at Le Cordon Bleu in Portland Ore., Jones learned about locally sourced food, wine, and cocktails. He also worked at Sun Valley Ski and Golf Resort, as well as in a variety of corporate restaurants as both general manager and executive chef. He most recently served as general manager at Kalamazoo’s Raddison Hotel’s Brick + Brine Restaurant.

“I am excited to be a part of the team at Treetops Resort and foster truly World class food and beverage offerings through menus and events at Michigan’s Most Spectacular Resort,” says Jones.

Hammock is from Gaylord and graduated from Gaylord High School. After graduation, he moved to Colorado.  He returned to Michigan in 2005, working in both the Grand Rapids and Lansing areas.

Hammock attended The International Culinary Institute while working at Diamonds Steakhouse in Howell.  He has spent the last five years as the chef and general manager at Big Buck Brewery in Gaylord.

“I am excited to take on this new role and look forward to contributing to the new vision and direction of the culinary initiatives at Treetops Resort,” says Hammock.
