Treetops Resort, a Gaylord-based golf and ski resort and spa, announced today that it has completed the voluntarily reorganization process under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and will now pursue renovations and development.
“This is great news for the resort and the region,” says Barry Owens, general manager of treetops resort. “The filing was a necessary action to preserve the value of our business and to ensure continued operations.”
The process gave the resort’s owners time to shed debt and position itself financially for future improvements to its property.
“As we’ve seen in the past, businesses do emerge from reorganizations stronger than ever,” Owens says. “We are in a very strong position to serve our loyal customers, as well as our business partners and employees.”
