ROYAL OAK — Royal Oak restaurateur Luigi Cutraro and executive chef of Trattoria da Luigi, Steve Siekierzynski, will host a fundraising event, “Dine Out for Hunger.” The event will raise funds for Gleaners Community Food Bank’s 2015 Hunger Free Summer campaign from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 3.
“I wanted to use Trattoria da Luigi’s two-year anniversary to give back to the community that has supported me and my business,” says Cutraro. “No child should go hungry. I’m thrilled to be able to share what I love — fine food and a wonderful dining experience — to bring nourishment to children who too often go without.”
All profits from the event will be donated to Hunger Free Summer, a campaign created to ensure that no child will be left hungry in the summer. The campaign supports Gleaners Community Food Bank’s programs, which reach thousands of children throughout Southeast Michigan with meals. In addition to profits, staff members have agreed to donate all tips to the campaign.
Fox 2 anchor Jason Carr will be the host for the evening, and other celebrities are expected to participate as well.
