Toyota Technical Center Appoints New Executive

ANN ARBOR — Toyota Technical Center, a division of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, N.A. announced the promotion of Kristen Tabar from general manager, electrical systems-2 to vice president electrical systems engineering, effective January 7, 2013.

“Kristen Tabar is especially qualified to serve as one of our company’s top leaders,” said Toyota Technical Center president Seiya Nakao. “Her experience spans many major vehicle development programs and she has an impressive record of achievement.”

Kristen joined the Toyota Technical Center in 1992 as an engineer responsible for audio systems and component development.  Ms. Tabar was promoted in 2010 to general manager for electrical systems-2 department where she was responsible for the design and development of multimedia and telematics, including component, systems, and vehicle applications for Lexus and Toyota models.

Before joining Toyota Technical Center, Tabar worked as a contract engineer with Ford in the quality group.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.  She is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, as well as the Audio Engineering Society.
