DETROIT, Mich., April 2, 2009 – Curt McAllister has been named Midwest Regional Manager – Corporate Communications for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc.
Formerly the Midwest Product News Manager, McAllister’s new responsibilities include day-to-day management of the Midwestern Corporate Communications Office in Detroit. The office is responsible for public relations and media relations for Toyota, Lexus and Scion in a 14-state region comprising the Great Lakes and Heartland states.
McAllister joined TMS in 2007, after an 11-year career at John Bailey & Associates (JB&A), Inc., Troy, Mich., where he helped manage the agency’s automotive division. During his time at the firm, he helped JB&A earn more than 80 awards in the public relations field, many of them within the automotive sector. He is also a former journalist, serving as an editor at The Clarkston News and a reporter at the Flint Journal.
McAllister’s professional affiliations include: the Automotive Press Association, Midwest Automotive Media Association, Public Relations Society of America, and the Society of Automotive Engineers. A native of Metamora, McAllister earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Ferris State University in 1989.
Active in the civic community, McAllister currently serves on the board of directors for Common Ground in Oakland County, as well as the alumni board at Ferris State. He is also active in the St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit, CARE House of Oakland County and the Lake Orion Youth Baseball League.
McAllister and his wife, Tammra, reside in Lake Orion, with their three sons.
