Townsend Hotel Adds Sous Chef, Director of Housekeeping

Semak, of Trenton, will  manage the hotel’s banquet kitchen. Additionally, he will assist the hotel’s executive chef with the day-to-day culinary operations, including product ordering, staff scheduling and management, and menu development. Prior to joining The Townsend team, Semak, who has been working in kitchens for more than 15 years, most recently served as sous chef at The Dearborn Inn.

Semak earned his associates degree in applied sciences and culinary certificate from Schoolcraft Community College in Livonia.

Spears, of Troy, who joined The Townsend team earlier this year, has been promoted to director of housekeeping. In her new role, Spears is responsible for overall operations of the property’s housekeeping department and management of its team members, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and quality guest care are regularly observed.

Prior to joining The Townsend Hotel, Spears worked as assistant housekeeper at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Spears graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, N.C. where she received a bachelor of arts degree in international hotel and tourism management.
