Legoland Discovery Center Michigan in Auburn Hills today announced the Top 10 results from a public fan vote that determined metro Detroit’s favorite landmarks, all of which will be built from Lego bricks and featured in Miniland when the attraction opens next spring.

More than 1,100 votes were cast in the first round of write-in voting, which identified the Top 10 metro Detroit landmarks as:

  • GM Renaissance Center
  • Spirit of Detroit
  • Belle Isle
  •  Motown Museum
  •  Fox Theater
  •  Guardian Building
  •  Comerica Park
  • Uniroyal Tire
  • Michigan Central Station
  • Heidelberg Project

“Miniland will be an exciting addition to our attraction, one that is even more special because of the strength of community participation,” says Hayley Anderson, general manager for Legoland Discovery Center Michigan. “We are very eager to see what fans will choose as the metro Detroit area’s top landmark.”

The second round of MINILAND voting will ask fans to vote on one landmark from the Top 10, and will run through Legoland Discovery Center Michigan’s Facebook page from Nov. 2, through Nov. 16. The winning landmark will be announced on Nov. 18, and will be unveiled at a special event prior to Legoland Discovery Center Michigan’s grand opening at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills.

The center will be a 32,000-square-foot indoor attraction featuring millions of Lego bricks and themed exhibits including a 4-D cinema, two interactive rides, large soft play areas and much more.
