Birmingham’s The Townsend Hotel has earned a Four-Star award for the fourth consecutive year from Forbes Travel Guide.

The Townsend, known for its exceptional service and amenities, is one of only two Michigan hotels to receive the 2016 Four-Star Rating, and will be showcased with all of the Star Rating recipients on ForbesTravelGuide.com.

According to Forbes Travel Guide, only properties that meet its hospitality standards — the most stringent in the industry — achieve a Five Star, Four Star or Recommended rating. Forbes Travel Guide’s professional inspectors check into every property it regularly rates, evaluating more than 500 criteria to determine a Star Rating.

“To continually receive recognition from the travel industry’s most respected authorities, like Forbes Travel Guide, is always an honor for the entire Townsend team,” says Steven Kalczynski, The Townsend Hotel’s managing director.  “Our goal is to provide gracious, thoughtful and personalized service to every guest that walks through our doors, every single day.  Awards like this help affirm we are meeting those goals and hopefully exceeding the expectations of our visitors.”

Earlier this year, The Townsend received the AAA Four Diamond designation for the 28th consecutive year, an award given to hotels committed to providing guests with a personalized experience and attentive service in comfortable, high-quality surroundings, according to AAA.
