TROY — The Suburban Collection has acquired the Fisker automotive franchise for Michigan. The franchise was purchased from the Serra Automotive Group. No purchase price was disclosed.
“Fisker is a major player in the future development of alternative propulsion systems for automobiles,” said David T. Fischer, chairman and CEO, The Suburban Collection. “We are excited about partnering with Fisker and being part of its growth.”
Fischer said that Fisker of Troy has begun operations at 1755 Maplelawn Road in Troy, where The Suburban Collection also sells and services luxury brands including Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Maserati, Bentley and Bugatti. Fisker of Troy is the only Fisker dealership in Michigan.
“The Suburban Collection is an ideal network to carry the Fisker brand in the Detroit market area. Their seasoned professionals understand how to support premium brands while providing the highest levels of customer satisfaction,” said Matthew Malfitano, director, Fisker Operations, Fisker Automotive.
Fisker currently offers the Karma, a high-performance, luxury four door sports sedan. The Karma has 403 horsepower, zero to 60 MPH time of 6.3 seconds, yet is rated at 54 MPG. Plans for the Atlantic, a luxury sports sedan are in development.
