The State Bank in Fenton has appointed Michael Franklin as the company’s commercial lending market manager for the Oakland County area.

“We are very pleased to have Michael join our team and help lead our efforts to expand our presence in Oakland County,” says Craig Johnson, senior vice president at The State Bank. “His background and experience within the market makes him ideal for this role.”

As manager, Franklin will work to expand the bank’s commercial lending team, interact with the retail banking team to grow relationships with existing commercial customers, and build new commercial relationships.

Before coming to the bank, Franklin held positions in residential lending, branch management, and business banking at JPMorgan Chase for 16 years.

Franklin graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on hospitality services administration.

The State Bank, a full-service commercial, retail, and trust bank, operates 15 branches in Genesee, Livingston, Oakland, Saginaw, and Shiawassee counties.

“I am honored and excited to start this new journey with The State Bank,” says Franklin. “It gives me great pride to work for a bank that has such close ties to its community. I am proud to share this experience with my clients, friends and family. My ultimate goal in banking is to lead by example, provide an excellent experience for our clients, and represent myself as a true leader in the community.”
