The SME Education Foundation Opens Scholarship Applications

DEARBORN — The SME Education Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for the 2015-16 academic year.

A wide variety of scholarships being offered provide financial support to students in manufacturing, manufacturing technology and or closely related fields of study.

“The scholarships provide dedicated and deserving students with the extra funding needed to complete their studies and successfully transition from academia into the workforce,” says Brian Ruestow, president of the SME Education Foundation.

The SME Education Foundation Family Scholarship is open to graduating high schools seniors or undergraduate students related to SME members. The endowed scholarship can award up to $70,000 to the winning student at an accredited college or university in the U.S., or Canada.

More than 50 other scholarships will also be offered to gradating students pursuing engineering and manufacturing careers.
