FARMINGTON  HILLS — JARC, an organization serving people with disabilities, is bringing the popular Broadway show The Rascals: “Once Upon A Dream” to Michigan in honor of its 33rd annual fall fundraiser. The show will take place at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 14 at the Fox Theatre.

More than 3,500 guests are anticipated to join event chairs David Haron of Farmington Hills, Janis Shulman of Farmington Hills, and Scott Werner of Birmingham for this this rocking performance. It’s produced and directed by Steven Van Zandt and features lighting/projection wizard Marc Brickman.  “The show will be an uplifting inspiration for the fans that have been waiting all these years, praying for Rascals comeback, and those who are younger will get a real taste of the ‘60s they missed the first time around,” said Steven Van Zandt, producer and director of The Rascals: “Once Upon A Dream.”

New to this year’s fall fundraiser is a special Matching Gift Challenge. Any new donation or gift increase from JARC’s 2012 Fall Fundraiser performance of CIRQUE DREAMS Enchanted Evening performance will be matched dollar for dollar by the Michelle and David Carroll Matching Gift Challenge — in memory of David’s father, Bill Carroll.

“Both Michelle and David Carroll have been an important part of JARC for many years and we are honored to keep David’s father, Bill Carroll’s memory alive through this years challenge,” said Rick Loewenstein, Chief Executive Officer of JARC.

The evening will also feature an exclusive Young Adult (ages 21-40) pre-glow strolling dinner and cocktail reception called Groovin’ Lounge prior to the show beginning from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Underwritten by Quicken Loans, Engineered To Amaze, the Groovin’ Lounge pre-glow will be catered by Quality Kosher Catering. Admission is free to this reception with the purchase of a ticket to JARC’s The Rascals: “Once Upon A Dream”.  Chairs of Groovin’ Lounge are Michelle Bass of Bloomfield Hills, Jodi Fox of Huntington Woods, Katie Katz of Detroit and Rachel Lachover of Birmingham.
