AUBURN HILLS — As thousands prepare to head to Beyoncé’s sold out show at The Palace of Auburn Hills, they’ll have immediate access to free, fast, secure Wi-Fi at all concerts and events in the arena.

Palace Sports & Entertainment has teamed with Ericsson to raise the bar of mobile engagement and to enable maximum content delivery capabilities for fans attending Palace concerts, events, and Detroit Piston games. Verizon has also augmented wireless capacity at the venue with its distributed antennae system which complements the WI-FI network.

The Palace is an early adopter of Ericsson’s innovative technology designed specifically for high-density environments like the 22,000-seat arena:

  • Optimally installed access points address fan requirements throughout the venue
  • Network capacity can be adjusted in real-time based on the number of requests

“Ericsson’s end-to-end mobile broadband communications and entertainment solutions for stadiums and arenas provide a future-proof platform that supports Palace Sports & Entertainment’s commitment to taking fan engagement to the next level,” said Dave Park, Ericsson head of architecture, Wi-Fi products.

The innovative technology sets the stage for future live-streaming in the Pistons mobile app and the Palace Sports & Entertainment app coming this summer, allowing fans to connect to social channels, join our fan clubs, and receive special offers.

“Palace Sports & Entertainment prides itself on providing the best, innovative fan experience in the industry and our free Wi-Fi access enhances that,” said Dennis Mannion, PS&E president and CEO. “This collaboration with Ericsson combines the best of their technology with the best of our creative capabilities to thrill our fans.”
