The Lake House Names New Executive Director

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Madeline Bialecki has been named as the new executive director of The Lake House, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing the social and emotional needs of those affected by cancer, including those in treatment, survivors, caretakers and the bereaved.

With more than 25 years of leading and fundraising for nonprofit and faith-based organizations, Bialecki, of St. Clair Shores, joins The Lake House from the Mercy Education Project, where she was the development director. Previously, she was the executive director at three Philadelphia area nonprofits.

In addition to her previous leadership positions, Bialecki was a Trainer/VISTA Supervisor for Macomb Literacy Partners in Clinton Township, a voluntary service worker and provincial adviser for People First of Manitoba, a volunteer coordinator for Independent Living Centre, and assistant for l’Arche in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Bialecki, A Detroit native, she recently returned to Michigan. She attended Villanova University where she earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Honors Program and Master of Arts in Religious Studies.
