“The Garden Party exceeded our expectations last year and we look forward to another successful event in June. This year we are pleased to announce that we will have restaurant representation from across the entire state, including northern Michigan and Ann Arbor,” said Sydney L. Ross, founder of The Garden Party Foundation. “Last year’s event raised $40,000 for both Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and the OCC Culinary Studies Institute. We invite guests to experience The Garden Party not to enjoy delectable cuisine, fine wines, and entertainment, but also to support two worth-while Michigan charities.”

Supporters can also contribute to the Garden Party Foundation by dining or shopping at the fine stores and restaurants of The Somerset Collection. From Thursday, June 3-Saturday, June 5, 2010, The Somerset Collection will donate 10% of all shoppers’ purchases, up to $50,000, to The Garden Party Foundation. Shoppers are asked to save all receipts and submit them to the South Concierge Desk to be recorded. All receipts will be returned.

Headquartered in Troy, Michigan, Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan is a statewide agency helping Michigan families cope with leukemia, lymphoma, and related disorders by providing information, financial assistance, and emotional support.

Oakland Community College’s Culinary Studies Institute provides students with hands-on experiences in one of the largest facilities of its type, with quality instruction by award-winning faculty.
